Luca Mastromattei is the Executive Chef of Atelier Gourmet & Cocktails, the gastronomic heart of Hotel Rosabianca. Born in Pescara, he was raised in the kitchen of his family’s restaurant, where he learned to handle seafood with respect, simplicity, and precision. From there, his journey began—leading him beyond Italy and into dialogue with diverse techniques, cultures, and culinary philosophies.
After completing his formal training, Mastromattei chose the path of experience. He worked in France, Spain, and most notably the United Kingdom, where he trained under Chef Terry Laybourne and later opened his own restaurant, Caffè Vivo, which earned a spot in the Michelin Guide within just eight months. This was followed by a chapter in Marbella, at the Hotel Guadalpin Banus, where he refined his skills and vision in a two-Michelin-starred kitchen.
He eventually returned to Italy, opening Pèscion along the Montesilvano seafront. The restaurant, also recognized by the Michelin Guide, was celebrated for its thoughtful balance of regional identity, sustainability, and technique. The following year, he was inducted into the Ambasciatori del Gusto, a prestigious association of Italy’s most distinguished figures in the culinary world.
Today, he leads the kitchen at Atelier Gourmet & Cocktails – Il Salotto di Rapallo with the same guiding philosophy: traceable sourcing, deep respect for ingredients, and a quiet, measured elegance. His signature is present in every dish, yet he remains committed to one principle: letting the ingredients speak, not the chef.
A restaurant that reflects his vision of cuisine—elegant, essential, and rooted in the uncompromising quality of what’s on the plate.
